Talks of Lompatan Apex Ke 2012

Today, E48B held a talks and introduction about BIG USM- Lompatan Apex Ke 2012. Others than HBP students, many lecturers who come from different field are joined this talks too.

All the HBP students are required attend this talks

Encik WanB is giving a speech and talks about USM BIG background,
APEX programme, Disaster 2012, the activities and effort of BIG.

Encik WanB still invited one of our students, Mahram for
giving some opinion and experience that she had go through.

Mahram giving some talks now~ She talks about what
she experience for the past two months.

After the talks is the FAQ session, any of the attendants are allowed to ask any question that he/she don't understand or not clear on concept.

The first man that arise question is Prof.Fun.

Prof. Fun : What are the challengings will be faced? Means how many bamboos we have?
And how's about the plantation of bamboo?

Encik WanB : We have a lot of bamboos, we don't need worry about logging of bamboo, because even bamboo destroyed it still can be used, bamboo is nothing protected. And this is no replantation is needed. Because young bamboo will grow up beside their parent bamboo, and they do not grow in single, but grow in rows! Additional on that, bamboo can grows up 4 feet in 1day. With such rapid speed, we don't have to worry about scarce of bamboo.

What is the contribution of bamboo to USM and Lompatan APEX Ke 2012?

Usm going to unite all the students that interested on bamboo, and commitment in making projects like polarshift. What we need is SACRIFICATION. We can't take anyone as model, we will always behind them. We must lead ahead. We can produce bamboo to wide area, our bamboo industry is high-potential in developement. Hence, we can contribute bamboo to help of 2012. We do not depend on the other people, we do what we have to do.

How is the Disaster 2012 is not flood but earthquake or other else like fire?

Flood is just a predicted condition. We can't really know that what will happen in disaster 2012. Bamboo is not only just for polarshift, it still can making others thing that can make us survive. We try our best for 2012, even not happening we're not suffer any losses, but we gain experience. It's just like a triangulation. So we need all the help from outsides, the to be apply to the real condition.

Another male student raising question about energy.

Can bamboo be the source of energy?

Sure, many things can be a source of energy. But, we have to consider that is it suitable? substainable? economics? So, do what can we do, that is study how to generate bamboo turn to energy that can be used.

Can we have a prediction on the lifespan of bamboo with or without preservative?

We have to construct it, because we also don't know how many years and months can be preserve. That's why we need more researchers to focus on bamboo. As the examples of Bridges in China, Istana Buluh at Kuala Kangsar, we need the research of preservative.

Bamboo is widely use in construction field, then how can bamboo plays in medical field?

It believes that bamboo can use to cure "Gila Babi".
