2012 Doomsday/Domesday Part 4

Wednesday 29/9/2010

As yesterday the bengkel is closed and our PVC joint are too late for "shaping" and "curving", so today eaaly morning, around 8am, we're reaching the bengkel for completed this task.

Not reached 8am yet, uncle is started to work, help us to cut the PVC joint.

waiting for uncle to curve and shape the PVC joint

But, we're so "lucky".. When almost our turn, the tool is damaged!! ARGHH!! We quickly rush out from bengkel, line up again for cutting the PVC joint.

However, when our turn...... the tool is damaged..
We go out the bengkel waiting for another uncle helping.

On the same time, Encik Rusli Jamaluddin is giving some information and advise for installation of PVC joint with the Bamboo that we cut. He gives us some examples of strong structure bamboo and weak structure bamboo, which the skin is too thin, unable to support the all structure. He mentioned that, the weak and unstable bamboo erection will caused the IBU CONSTRUCTION collapsed due to the poor erection of bamboo.

Without wasting any time, after success in "curving" our PVC joint, we quickly move to sharpened the side of polypipe, for making a U-shape.

Next, we go to "BBQ".. We warm up the polypipe untill it turns soft, so it is easier for us to press it into flatter surface using two pieces of board.
BBQ the polypipe-ing...

Then, we embelished the sides of PVC joint as it looks untidy after warm up.

Here's the product that after shaping, curving, and embelishing

We marked a 'X' as a sign, for drill a hole in the centre.

This is the PVC joint that after drill a hole, so, we can tied them up with a screw.

After class. around 5.30pm, we gather again for re-cut and re-thinning the bamboo. This is because, we realised that we are wrong on measuring. The actual length of struts, 2.284m is actually measured from the hole of PVC joints to another end of hole.
We measure again the length that we have to cut down

We marked it up, the most left side is the part that we have to cut down.
Then the following next part is the part that we have to thin it up.

cutting the extra part that we don't need

thin it up with "parang knife" and hammer

fixed the PVC joint with the bamboo

Dang dang! We're completed our struts!
YEAH YEAH!

Yes!!! Finally! I've completed my part of struts!! lalalala~ Although it is sounds simple and easy concept, but when we do it, just realised that inside include many techniques and details. This few days, I already can't remeber how many times I been run between HBP and Rumpun Buluh. Woo~~ sweaty, tired, smelly, dirty, and tough week! What ever, after buzy and forced for waked up EARLIER for few days, I finally Done my part!! Woohoo.

Quite anxious to met the day, see how the whole construction can be erected and constructed. It must be huge and spectacular. I cannot wait to see how amazing and touching when the IBU CONSTRUCTION can be constructed and produced. By the way, for those friends that haven't completed yet, KEEP FIGHTING!! gambateh~
